Begonia Fine Foods has immeasurable skill and experience, but above all, the most important ingredient in every dish is LOVE.
Ja and Liesl met in Marshall, NC when he began his position as head chef in a bistro on Main Street in downtown Marshall. They have three sons and have made Marshall their forever home since 2007. Ja has been a sous chef at Star Diner for the last two years, while simultaneously working as the head chef/owner of Begonia Fine Foods. Ja and Liesl strive for excellence and have great passion for serving their local community. They specialize in weddings but enjoy creating inspired menus and memories for all special occasions.
Ja
Ja graduated from the New England Culinary Institute and has played an integral role in opening several successful restaurants in WNC. He has experience working with teams catering events for up to 2,000 people. Ja has had the privilege of studying under several accomplished chef’s in France.
Liesl
Liesl spent years working as a fine dining server on the Sunset Terrace at The Grove Park Inn. She left to raise her very young family. Once her children were old enough to return to work, BFF began to evolve into what it is today. Liesl has extensive knowledge of wine, beer, and craft cocktails. Her eye for detail makes her a crucial aspect for perfect event experiences.
